In feb 2004, form i140 took 11 months to clear, but as of july 2006, there are zero, i repeat 0 backlogs. It is awesome that he is focusing on the positive, but I would also like to know is how many hundreds of thousands are waiting for their first stage labor to clear.

I am in a similar position, I have applied for my I-485 last july and PD is Jan 2007, I haven't got any RFE yet but reading all the posts I think I might get one for BC. My BC has 20th August as date of birth but from my school certificate,PP, DL all have 17th August date and I have send an affidavit with I-485 from my parents that I was born on 17th August. But Now when I read all the forums I think I should have send the affidavit which should have said that 20th was right but I did not know that uscis gives more importance to BC date instead of dates on other documents.
Does somebody know what uscis might do? Should I support 17th or 20th date now? and if 20th then is it possible date on school certificate, DL can be changed? Pl. help with your precious advice. I got laid off five months back. I kept hunting new job but could not get one. Now I plan to move out of the country. In the circumstances, is my employer who was holding my H1b during termination, liable to give return tickets to my base country ? Can I claim the same after five monthsof my termination since I failed to get any job? What about my family members?
Can anyone send any link emphasising this Rule so that I can quote that to my employer?
Any advice in this respect is highly appreciated. Thanks.

You can use the paint bucket yes.
Or you can select white as your foreground color and use CTRL+Backspace to fill it (or is that ALT+backspace, either way, one of them uses the foreground color as fill and the other uses the background color as fill, just test it and find out if you want :))

Two years back, in the month of july, they accepted all applications in one month.
May be they have been working in the past 2 years to print cards for all of them and ready to dispatch this July.

Okay thanks for you advice.. Well, before I got married my wife was on an exchange school visa and after school she had an extra year to find work. Not exactly sure the types of visa. But we got married while she was still on one of her visas. Her visa just recently expired, but is there a need to file an I-130 along with the other green card applications? I understand k1's and k2's don't need to.

I spoke to my attorney about this.She advised me that i get the BC transalated to english and for no name get affidavites by two people saying that the birth certificate was indeed me and i was named later as per customs and culture.I got affidavtes sworn by my mother and father.

I changed my address using online AR11 on friday May 1st. I checked my case portfolio next day and saw a soft LUD on my I 485 application. Same with my wife. I think it is always better to get the address change done in the system because later it can be a big headache to solve. I will update forum if I hear anything from CIS.

Ombudsman had correctly predicted this fiasco back in June before the dates were made current:
There will be severe consequences from rapid fluctuations in priority dates. If the priority date became current today, due to delayed USCIS processing and thus underutilization of visa numbers, some have predicted that within a few months as many as 500,000 to 750,000 individuals now residing in the United States under a temporary worker visa could apply for a green card. I-485 could be from family based, EB1 and ROW categories. I dont all these became Unavailable on July 2nd. Also you are right, USCIS didnt reject applications even though they came in between July 2nd and 17th.

Checked DOL website yesterday (4/30) and today (5/01) to see what the front page would say. Sure enough - the image changed from "18 Months Remaining" yesterday to "17 Months Remaining" today!
Web gurus, can you guys make sense of the following lines? I grabbed them from the DOL's website source. Can you tell if this being manually changed or some script is doing it automatically:

Is this still true if the person did not have a new job, would they still be legal (assuming that they could fund themselves. I am trying to get to the answer of what if someone is laid off and does not have another job while their 485 is pending.

Hi all, my first post here. The forum has been truly useful so far and I'm glad to join today. I was one of those just lurking around but now I really need the feedback from D70 experts here since my 6 month old D70 won't work anymore overnight. I just put it back in the shock-proof case and it slept there, next morning it was no longer usable.
It seems like it's resetting constantly by itself. The MENU key shows the menu briefly and disappears, the last picture review button shows the last picture on the flash card briefly and also disappears.
When there's a card in it blinks the green light about once a second. Seems like it's really rebooting every second.
There is no display on the control LCD near the on/off switch. It is blank and does not show any traces of anything, just plain blank.
On the big LCD preview screen it is normally blank but like I said it does briefly display the last picture taken when you press review, but then disappears also at 1 second interval.
When the menu shows briefly after pressing MENU the movement keys do not affect the selection, all keys seem disabled during that brief period of time.
I've changed batteries, lenses, pushed every button and checked the lens socket connectors to see if anything looked strange - everything seems ok here. Tested the same batteries on another D70 and worked perfect just this morning.
It has taken no shocks or beating. It's a brand new D70 (6 months and a few days) and my retailer denies me warranty after 6 months - Murphy's Law applied to warranties says your equipment will break exactly after the warranty voids. I feel like I've been ripped off buying a refurbished piece for the price of a new one...but that's for another discussion.
I've written Nikon a few minutes ago but in the meantime I'd like to know if anyone here knows of a "keylock" switch or something that could disallow me access to the camera. Or could be a stuck reset switch or something like that. The menu shows and the internal mechanism is ok because it can read the last photo and displays readable stuff. The reset on the bottom of the camera does not seem ot reset anything, it just blanks the screen out briefly but then it goes back into an infinite reboot loop.

Why do you need to go to Canada ? If your you have I797 you are approved and can start working with adjustment of status. Am I missing something ?
