Hi,
I am in the process of moving between jobs. The old job is a teaching job in a university and the new one is a research position in a non-profit think tank. So there is no H1B quota issue for both jobs.
The H1B for the old job won't expire unit next year. I have received the H1B for the new job. The start date for the new H1B is Sept. 1st.
My question is: Can I start my new job before Sept. 1st? I understand that for H1B transfer, one can start the new job once the application receipt from USCIS is received. But in my case, I have already got the new H1B and the start date on that is Sept 1st.

Yes, the numbers are fixed. Therefore, those who filed in July and August, which were not given number from FY2007 will get from FY2008. And that would be too many for countries like India and China.

USCIS had been given strict guidelines to process all cases within a six month timeframe depending on the type of the case. But many cases have come to light which are not seeing the light of the day.
How about filing our taxes on April 16, but not on April 15.
Exactly what is your logic? There is no law against their getting delayed in completing a case in 6 months. There is a law for not submitting taxes on time. That is why I think this argument is not very valid. I can see your frustration with the delays at USCIS, however, and sympathize with it.

Hi firends,
I heard that now all we are getting 2 Year EAD/ AP for renewals. Thats very good news to us. I have couple of questions on this.
1. How do we need to pay for renewal? Fee will be 2 years fee or 1 year fee?
2. Is this one combined document with EAD/AP?
3. Is this process already started?

A great tip from AILA to share with our readers regarding the H1B visa. It seems that H-1B petitions (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) for Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) and similar related occupations are being closely monitored to ensure that accurate job duties are being identified to confirm CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) certification requirements.
There are multiple progressive occupations within the Speech Language Pathology career field including, Teachers of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH), Teachers of Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLC), Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) and Clinical Fellows (CFY), and Speech Language Pathologists (SLP).
While all of these positions require a state license, only SLPs who are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) may provide direct patient care without supervision, and thus, only certified SLPs require CGFNS certification.
According to CGFNS, the other related occupations (TSHH, TSSLC, SLPA, and CFY, all of which require a minimum of a bachelor's degree, a license, and direct supervision by a licensed SLP) do not provide independent patient care and must be supervised by a licensed SLP and, therefore, are not eligible for CGFNS certification.

How will removing country limits help China, India and ROW.
Has someone done any calculations on visa date movement.
We should have some comparison on this because some of us from China against. I seen many ROW against.
Does it help only Indians or everyone by how much?
I see these calculations bringing Indians, Chinese and ROW together.
the truth is this.... some of the chinese are against removal of country limits becoz they do not care if it helps them..... they r simply opposed to removal of per country limits becoz they cannot see india getting any benefit..... its the age old chinese mindset which cannot be changed with numbers or calculations...... otherwise just think for u'rself...... if china is retrogressed as evident from monthly visa bulletin .... & removal of per country limits will create 1 queue for everyone..... then y would some of these chinese be opposed to the removal of per country limits.....

My wife got a job offer on contract basis for 3 months. I am on h1 and she is on h4 so far. I am planning to stay on h1 itself. If my wife accepts this job using EAD, Does my status also changes? Is it okay if she dont find a job after this contract expires, what status she will be in during that time, h4 or EAD?
Please advice, Thanks a lot ....

if so, will the priority date be same or it will be new once converted to F1 category.
IT WILL STAY THE SAME.

The use of H1b is extensive just to promote false news....
H1b and Greencards are used in the same context. Many 'technology' magazines don't like either GC's or H1b's.
GC process is a 'fair' atleast when it comes to prevailing wage and so they quote 'H1b' quite often to build up their case.

Hi,
I have received the EAD card yesterday with No finger prints available. But we have done our Finger printing before the EAD is approved. Approx 4 weeks before.
Is this normal? Or i should contact USCIS about this?
I know some applicants getting their EAD cards before finger prints were taken for them No finger prints available makes sense.
Any responses are appreciated
